ELCI False Trips

October, 13 2011
The ABYC requirement for ELCI circuit breakers on all new boats with AC power has recently passed its first anniversary. Many units have been installed on new and existing boats and there have been instances of ELCI breakers tripping, revealing dangerous grounded neutrals that were previously undiscovered in the AC system and from faulty wiring during installation. There have also been cases of false trips, identified by Blue Sea Systems, caused by reverse polarity main circuit breakers, mis-wired AC selector switches, and even some Inverter/Chargers. These factors along with troubleshooting tips will be the subject of a presentation by Wayne Kelsoe, Chief Technology Officer, and Scott Renne, Founder and President of Blue Sea Systems. The one hour presentation will be at IBEX on Monday, October 17th from 1:00 to 2:00pm in Louisville, Kentucky. For more information, log onto: http://ibexshow.com/workshops-free.php.
