Blue Sea Systems products selected for the United States Coast Guard

Blue Sea Systems products have been selected to power the USCG 47' Motor Life Boat, pictured above. This is a confirmation of our commitment to designing and manufacturing electrical products engineered to withstand the harsh marine environment. The USCG 47' Motor Life Boat travels at 25 knots and has a 200nm range at 20 knots. It operates in 30' seas, 20' surf, and will right itself in 6 seconds from a 180° heel.

Blue Sea Systems names David Johnson as Vice President of Sales and Marketing

"I'm excited to be a part of a company that has built its reputation on quality and innovation," Johnson said. "I've watched Blue Sea Systems grow from a small manufacturer of a few key electrical components to the industry leader it is today. I'm looking forward to playing a role in its continued growth of new products and expanding its market reach and penetration."
Johnson comes to Blue Sea Systems from his role as Executive Vice President at Go2marine, where he helped launch and market the popular online marine store for marine parts for the commercial and recreational boaters. Before joining Go2marine, Johnson consulted for early stage companies. Prior to his consulting practice, Johnson was with West Marine for 13 years, serving as Senior Director of Marketing for 7 years after holding positions as a Store Manager and District Manager.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Johnson built a forty foot fiberglass sailboat with a brother and two friends and sailed it to French Polynesia and back to the Seattle area. Following his voyage, he was a partner in a small boating building company and later refurbished a wooden Gulf 40 sailboat while running his own yacht rigging service.
